Overcoming Social Anxiety

hello fellow bloggers!

i havent blogged in so long, i have been so busy with school and my social life so i apologise for not updating sooner!! this weeks blog post is all about overcoming social anxiety and how to deal with it. now i have quite bad social anxiety and just anxiety in general and havent really thought about doing anything about it so if anyone has got some good ways of dealing with anxiety in general leave me a comment below, tweet me or message me on tumblr.

 right, lets get started..

at school i find that this is one of the main places that my social anxiety kicks in. now i have to physically write things down and know what i am going to say before i even put my hand up if i wish to or if i know a teacher is going to pick on me for various reasons. when a teacher puts me on the spot, i completely blank out and dont know what to say and not going to lie it probably looks like im really dumb but in reality its because inside i am very very anxious and scared of saying things wrong etc...

so first of all, you have to find a way of gaining confidence. i find it hard just walking into school on my own and even with my friends sometimes, or even if im going into the gym or going out to the shops or to Brighton i get really really anxious, i suffer from really bad self conciousness as well which doesnt help in any way at all! Going and walking into the gym was my way of trying to gain confidence and usually when you go into a gym people tend to look at you if your a new member, but i gave up on that idea after going like twice. so if anyone knows any other ways, let me know.

secondly, find something your really passionate about, something you enjoy. put your energy towards something positive instead of sitting round critiquing people. Knowing who you are and what you believe in is another thing, you have to know who you are and what you believe in to achieve certain things and i personally think that finding yourself is a good way of thinking about your life choices too. thinking about all the things you have to look forward to in the future basically. finding what you believe in can help a lot because what you believe in could be a thing you believe in passionately and enjoy.

and finally, focus on YOU. spend time with yourself, dont worry about what other people may think or what others are doing. the less judgemental you are of others, the happier you'll feel and you'll be wasting a lot less time on people and a lot more time on YOU and being proud of being YOU! being by yourself and learning who you are is also very important, it can help you in so many ways. Find people/friends that will keep you in line and on the right track because if you go off that track into some bad place, you'll just be failing already and your anxiety and issues will just get worse. i have a few great friends that keep me in check and in line and trust me it helps a lot.

thanks for reading guys!
