Summer Nails Edition
Hello fellow bloggers!
Now, when it comes to doing my nails I rarely use anything other than Barry M. Barry M never fails to impress me with their range of different shades, formulas and how easy their overall nail varnishes are to apply. Throughout the years Barry M has been my number 1 nail varnish to turn to when in need of a manicure but especially in the summer months when my nails need a bit of extra brightening up. I do always reach for pastel shades because they are a little easier for application and everyday wear and they are one of my favourite types of shades! However, when I want to enhance my skin tone and add a pop of a colour, I always reach for the brighter shades. So for today's blogpost I thought I'd give you the run-down on 4 of my favourites from Barry M this month.
First of all, as you can probably see from the picture below I'm running a little low on my pastels this month which is a bit disappointing. But on a higher note, pastels will always be one of my favourites to wear on my nails- baby blues, pinks and purples are just so beautiful in the summer and I just think they compliment my skin tone nicely around the summer time too. In the summer, I'm always after that shade that'll compliment my skin tone whether I go on holiday and get a nice tan or not and the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in the colour Prickly Pear does just the job, a light lilac shade that applies evenly. Although you have to apply 2 to 3 coats of this, it leaves you with the glossiest, clear coat after.
Note: I'm looking for more pastel shades so let me know in the comments or on twitter if you have any recommendations.
Moving on to the brighter shades, if your looking for a bright red this summer then this is the one you need to get your hands on. The Barry M Bright Red Nail Paint in 262 is the ultimate shade of red for summer. Whether you have a tan or not, this shade of red will compliment and enhance your natural skin tone. Although, I reach for pastels and less-brighter colours when it comes to day-to-day wear, I always turn to brighter shades that I love when I am either in the process of getting a tan or when I have got a tan already. However, if you're looking for a new holiday nail varnish then Barry M Fuchsia Nail Paint in 302 is a beautiful subtle pink shade for the summer season that isn't too OTT. Despite Barry M's Fuchsia being a fabulous shade for summer, another great shade for the holiday season is the Barry M Spring Green Nail Paint in 290. This colour just adds a bit of something to an outfit/look, but isn't too bright like the neon formulas are. Both colours - Fuchsia and Spring Green - are pretty quick drying and apply evenly as well as being long lasting which is a bonus! Meaning you won't have to reapply every two seconds of the day!
Question of the week: What shades have you got on your nails this summer? Let me know in the comments below.
